Teacher Tales #18 Saw a former student who passed my subject by the skin of his teeth.  He failed other subjects though.  So, I asked him how he was faring this sem with his subjects. Proudly he replies, “Mam, di na ko bumabagsak sa mga subjects ko ngayon!” Me: “Nag-aaral ka na? Wow! Great!” Students: “Hindi, Mam, nagbawas lang ako ng subjects.”

Religious(?) Teacher Tales #17 Some students were talking and I happened to pass by. One student said, “Mam, si G langing natutulog sa class mo.” Me: “Yup, tulog lagi.” G: “Mam, religious lang talaga ako.  Nagdadasal lang ako kaya ako nakatungo.”

It’s been awhile since Prince Elsa visited me so I was excited to see him. He comes in the clinic wearing blue shirt and white shorts and carrying his red “Cars” bag. I asked the Mom if he was still playing with his Barbie dolls. He doesn’t touch the dolls anymore and doesn’t even look at it.  And Mom has stored them away for a couple of months. Me: “So, what do you like to do now?” E: “I like to draw. Actually, I have a drawing in my bag.  I’ll show you.” He shows me a drawing of a girl in a dress - “it’s a gown” - wearing high heels. #alamnathis
