She was asking for it!

Image
Petite Pedia Plots 129 While holding clinic, a little girl (maybe around five or six years old) comes into the room and tells me, "Vaccine please!" - sort of like ordering food from a restaurant.  So I tell her, "Sure, but you have to wait for your turn." All throughtout my clinic, this girl would come and go and ask me for a vaccine in that same polite manner. At the end of my clinic, I asked my secretary where that girl was.   And my sec tells me that the girl is not our patient. She was someone else's. No wonder she was bravely asking for a shot! She knew I wasn't about to give it to her!

Water Birth No More

Petite Pedia Post 125 I attended this newborn delivery recently.  Mom was in labor for 31 hours, the last 6-7 hours of which were very painful. Her original plan was water birth (hence, no anesthesia)  but ended up lying in bed since she was more comfortable in it.  Even if she wanted anesthesia, we couldn't since she was too far along. There were times when she was on the verge of giving up, but her very "supportive" family and friends would tell her , "Ginusto mo yan!"  The very excited and cooperative father-to-be was also stressed whenever he would see his pregnant partner in pain. His solution? He would disappear and eat several servings of food and come to sit beside his partner all recharged.  (He had 3 servings of dinner and breakfast.)  ðŸ˜‚ At the end of the tiring and succesful lamaze delivery, the obstetrician probably saw how exhausted the Mom was. She ordered that Mom be given some water. Nurse handed it over to the new...

Good Job ?!?

Teacher Tales 2 As a teacher, I encourage my students by being liberal with praises.  As I was asking them to do individual return demonstrations, I would praise them with "great job", "very good job" and "good job" depending on how well they were able to do it. After a particularly difficult return demo filled with numerous corrections and persistent flaws, the student then asked me what his praise was.  All i could say was "hindi ka good job eh, hindi pa nga job, baka hanggang 'j' pa lang for now. Practice at home please." Photo from www.pinsdaddy.com

My Prince Elsa Series 7

Petite Pedia Plots 109 Dad comes in looking really worried with his little boy trailing behind. Little Boy is sobbing really hard. Dad explains that he got really upset with his son because the boy wanted him to buy something in SM.   And when he didn't buy it, his son threw a tantrum.   What was that something?  A Barbie doll.

Where is this?

Daughter Duties 24 I  asked my Dad where his dinner was yesterday. He replied, "Sa Bonifacio Side Street." "Dad, High Street yon, hindi Side Street", I said. He retorted, "Sa side street naman kami kumain eh, hindi naman sa main street."  Photo from pixdaus.com
