Petite Pedia Plots 111 His teacher advised Mom to hide all the girly toys in the house and replace them with a lot of "Cars" and "Superheroes" stuff. I see him and Mom about a week after. He comes in with a "Cars" kiddie backpack. Mom tells me she is very proud because he hasn't asked for his favorite doll (aka Barbie) and dollhouse since she hid it.   "Wow! You have a nice bag! What are those?, I  asked.  Little boy replies, "They're cars."  "And what's the name of the one in the middle, the main character?" He said,"That's Annabelle! Petite Pedia Plots 109 Dad comes in looking really worried with his little boy trailing behind. Little Boy is sobbing really hard. Dad explains that he got really upset with his son because the boy wanted him to buy something in SM.   And when he didn't buy it, his son threw a tantrum.   What was that something?  A Barbie doll. 

Petite Pedia Plots 102 In line with the "Buwan ng Wika" theme in their school, they were asked to wear Filipino outfits. So, Mom bought him a kamisa de chino and red pants. Petite Pedia Plots 99 Little Boy Princess Elsa had a check-up. Was so impressed when he came in wearing a "Cars" cap, a "Spiderman" shirt and "Batman" shoes. He chose to play with a ball (and not the dolls) and ran around the clinic. When I was bidding him goodbye, he pointed to my floral dress and said, "I love the flowers on your dress, Tita Doc. Petite Pedia Plots 90 A Mom of a patient and I were discussing the merits of using papaya soap. And I was telling her to apply papaya soap over the darkened area of her skin. Her daughter hears this and says, "di ba masakit yon kung mainit ang ilalagay sa skin?" It took awhile before her Mom and I realized she thought we were talking about papaya soup! 

Petite Pedia Plots 88 Remember my Mr. Princess Elsa? Well, his Mom told me that Elsa was no longer his favorite character. I thought, "Change of heart! Maybe he likes cars and superheroes now." And so I asked him who his new favorite now was and he answered, "Madami na, Tita Doc. Petite Pedia Plots 85 So, my Prince Elsa was back for a check-up. Mom was so proud and said that he could now correctly hold a pencil and scribble on paper. So, I gave him both. After awhile, he showed me his drawing. He drew Cinderella and her, ehem, "nice blue gown".  Photo taken from Ikat Bag

Petite Pedia Plots 81 My 3 y/o male "QueenElsa" came in the room wearing a blue shirt and shorts. Thinking that things might have changed in between check-ups, I asked him if his favorite color was blue. And he quips, "Pink!" complete with eyerolling. When I asked him what he was wearing, he said, "a blue shirt, shorts and a panty!" I corrected him and said "brief".  He insisted it was a panty. Alam na talaga!

Petite Pedia Plots 76 My 3-yr old patient was proudly enumerating the veggies she eats now: carrots, squash, cabbage, sayote, okra, ampalaya, and CHOCOLATE! Magka-food group na pala ngayon ang chocolates at carrots. Hehe! 😂😬😖

Petite Pedia Plots 72 Recently, a Mom was telling me that her 3-yr old son liked pink, dolls and Disney princesses. So I told her to stengthen the male influences in her son's life and expose him to cars, robots, etc.  Just today, I saw him enter my clinic with a sheet of cloth worn as a cape.
